A Moroccan girl committed suicide live on WhatsApp
A sordid story has shaken the conservative Moroccan region of Nador.
A woman decided to end her life after living in hell, which is very common these days in Morocco, especially during the Corona period. Still, this woman filmed her tragedy live on WhatsApp. According to the popular Moroccan newspaper Assabah which broke the story, it all started when the victim visited her married sister a few years ago. Her brother-in-law raped the unfortunate girl while she was still a minor.
She had decided to stay silent about it and not create a scene, but the husband abused her for many years. His wife, who started to have suspicions, finally found out.
Her husband, a very high-ranking man, decided to force the two sisters to have sex with him. I'm not sure what category of porn he's watching, but having sex with two sisters in the same bed is uncommon even in Morocco. This situation went on for a long time, according to the Assabah newspaper.
The wife and her sister, who when she became an adult, tried to end this nightmare. However, the husband knew people in very high places and always managed to cover up the affair. So, the sister decided to do the irreparable. She committed suicide by swallowing poison in the middle of a Whatsapp discussion with her tormentor.
The parents of both sisters found the lifeless body of their daughter and alerted the police, which led to the husband's arrest. He is accused of raping a minor, sexual assault, and adultery.
According to the World Health Organization report, Morocco has the second-highest number of women in an Arab country who commit suicide. According to the WHO, 1,013 cases of suicide were recorded in 2016, including 613 women.
