Behind Bar For Dancing With The Moroccan Tramway

Meanwhile, another kind of young person ends up making their lives more miserable by creating unnecessary problems. This is precisely the case of a 21-year-old guy whose video went viral in Morocco. The footage shows him obstructing the movement of one of the trams in Casablanca by placing a table on the tramway route, sitting on a chair, lighting a cigarette, and having a coffee, forcing the driver of the tram to suddenly hit the brakes, endangering the safety of the passengers.
Moroccan Police quickly intervened and arrested the 21-year-old when the suspect posted a video clip on his Instagram account. According to the Moroccan Penal Code, Article 591 stipulates that the obstruction of public transportation will be punished with imprisonment from five to ten years.
The Casablanca Court of Appeals issued verdicts against the three young men accused of obstructing the tramway. The main accused (Majid Touhami) got three years behind bars. The one who put the table in front of him and served him a coffee got two years in prison, the same sentence for the cameraman who filmed the infamous video that sparked controversy in Morocco. While this kind of childish, dangerous act may stop one day, the Moroccan drama continues…
